- Making learners feel welcome
- Verbal and non-verbal communication
- Barriers to learning
- Training strategies/activities
- Training aids
- Questioning skills
- Formative assessments

At the end of the course an assessment takes place using skills test 9 to identify the individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
The Cadet Trainer 2 course requires a Training Development Advisor (TDA) to be the lead trainer, but it is hoped that Youth Leaders will be involved as trainers. Young people who have already completed Cadet Trainer 2 or 3 may also assist support staff.
The course has been designed to run as a residential weekend event, but may be held over 3 days, with a minimum of six participants. A formal skill test 9 assessment, by a TDA, will be required at a later date either in the participants unit or by bringing course members back together. This skill test can be used as portfolio evidence.
