Continuing DofE during COVID-19

March 30th, 2020

Our weekly Cadet sessions may be on hold, but now is a great time to get organised with your DofE/sign up. Talk to your leader about how you can make the most of this time. Here are some ideas about how you can continue with the DofE during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Volunteering

  • Consider contacting your volunteer organisation and ask about opportunities to volunteer digitally
  • Fundraise for us by setting yourself a challenge, email fundraising@stjohnwales.org.uk
  • Volunteer as a telephone befriender for Age UK

Physical

  • Complete a physical activity at home e.g. running/walking. Make sure you evidence what you are doing with photos/screenshots from your fitness tracking app.

Skills

  • There are so many skills you can learn over the internet. Learn how to speak another language with Memrise, perfect an Italian pasta dish or learn to knit. Make sure you evidence your progress.

Expedition/Residential

Remember to keep your activity logs organised and collect as much evidence as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns about DofE contact your leader or email youth@stjohnwales.org.uk
